I hate drug testing in sports. Let's see how far the human body can really go. Drug testing just creates more ways to cheat and pass the test.

I'm pretty sure testing for steroids would be all the nails simultaneously for WSM.  That is until Hankins gets the invite(he has done a strict curl competition before) and wins the WSM cup as well.

Haven't followed WSM for a few years, but weren't guys complaining and dropping out because it was too unhealthy to compete for more than a few years (drugs and massive amounts of food)

"Certain illegal substances" means certain rec drugs, not PEDs. They say they've done that for years, maybe decades. They care about deaths while on air, not about their health per se, hence screening for stuff like cocaine and amphetamine

Archived from 2016. It's the same boilerplate, they've used it for years. Phil Pfister used to make a big stink about no drug testing in the WSM abut 15 years ago, they probably added it to quiet guys like him down.
