It's hard to explain that area if you haven't been there. It's a residential, but there's a decent amount of dead space (warehousing, etc...), and there's things like methadone clinics, and halfway housing, etc.... dotted all around that strip. And at 3 in morning, it's all closed up. It's one of those places where someone will tell you "it's fine" then tell you they don't go out after 9 at night.
