Who on here trained Topamania style?
« on: July 23, 2024, 04:50:18 AM »
These Kali Muscle vids remind me of that weenie head Stan McCrary.   Curly Top.  Who used to promote the Topamania training style.  Which defied belief.  Anyone of you ever read the booklet where he explains it?   Basically the premise is that you picked a weight that you could only get 10 reps with before failure and then the next set you used more weight and did more weight and then the set after that even more weight and even more sets.   Sort of like :

315x10
365x12
405x15

I wonder how he explained this phenomenon of magical strength.

By definition if you did it properly then you wouldnt be able to do your second set

If 315 x 10 was a max set then how the fuck could you go up on your second

The Hulk's strength increases the more he is challenged.

So yes, it is possible.

Exactly.

I would have to guess that it was some kind of prolonged rest pause set he was passing off.

I don't see why you all doubt this when the Hulk has shown it to be fact.

If you did a true set to failure you wouldn't be able to duplicate it on the second set never mind increasing the reps or weight.  You can do one set to 100%.  Two sets doing something like 95% each. Three sets at 90% each.  Not arguing the high intensity ideology.  More sets builds muscular endurance and that might be a more important factor than pure intensity for muscle growth.  If intensity was the magic bullet we would be doing sets of 1 rep for the most intense way you could train.

Agreed.

I suppose if you rested for an extended period you could do another but that would be something else entirely.

This.

But his entire claim is that after your first set to complete failure you added more weight and did more reps and then repeated that feat for the next set.

Where is McWay or Gym Rat?  I know they probably remember this being advertised in magazines.

We talking about a dude that :

Waited for an inmates wife to visit him and burglarized their house and then got busted over it because he wore some of that guys personalized jewelry on the job.

Robbed the gas station right next to Lee Haneys original Animal Kingdom while wearing workout clothes and shades then walked over and was busted half way through his workout.

Got busted receiving a suitcase full of roids inside the Atlanta Hartsfiels Airport.

So not very bright at all.
