they've been pricing people out of CA for years now. in 2000 the median home price was $212K, in 2026 it's $800k+. median rent was 780, now median rent is $2900.

I doubt most of the people that own those properties will rebuild.  They'd have to be crazy.

They'll sell the land.

It will take years/decades to clean it up...all the toxic debris will have to be cleared and landfilled.

   the job isn't quite done. Trump's attorney-general nominee, Pam Bondi, refused to answer direct questions about Trump during a Senate hearing, including whether he lost the 2020 election. When she was attorney-general of Florida, she refused to prosecute the fake Trump University fraud after receiving a large campaign contribution from Trump. She is actually worse than Bill Barr, Trump's previous attorney-general. She is a terrible choice, and will clearly be a tool for Trump to use to persecute his perceived enemies, despite none of them having committed any crime. This is no different than what happens in countries ruled by dictatorship. With the appointment of Trump's cabinet picks, the United States officially converts from a democracy to a kakistocracy, or a government ruled by the worst possible people. That means dark days ahead for all rational Americans. If Trump and the Republican plans to raid Social Security, Medicare, and reduce veteran benefits come to pass, it could easily lead to a second American revolution, not to mention unaffordable food and gas prices that are also on the horizon. And we can thank all the morons who voted for Trump and re-elected Republicans who work against them for this.
