For a few quarters now, SpaceX has been launching 90% of all of Earth’s cargo mass to orbit.

China only does 5%, and the rest of world, including rest of America, does 5%. Once Starship is at operational flight rates next year, SpaceX will be sending >99% of Earth’s payload mass to orbit.

This company did not exist at this capacity under just the first Trump term. This is civilization-defining. Costs to space will plummet, and a plethora of new business cases will start to make sense.

==============================

Without Elon the US and basically the entire Western World would be in serious trouble.
SoaceX gave the USA an enormous edge over China and Russia

I was surprised it was a splash down instead of landing at a base like the old Challengers used to do because I thought thats how the cargo ships worked and would have thought they would have used a vehicle for this. I remember listening to this cool segment on NPR (forgive me) where the pilots of the cargo ships talked about flying up and dropping off cargo and coming back they would have a mixtape of metal or prog rock that they listened to while coming through the flames and various colors of the atmosphere or whatever. They said that was their favorite part and loved it.
