I was at a doctor's appointment. Waiting in the lobby. Two women who were obviously old acquaintances, run into each other. They're talking loudly and catching up. Eventually their talk turns political.
The older woman, who looks Italian to me, is apparently of Hispanic descent, and is lamenting her life because of the constant fear Trump places her in. She goes on about how horrible that ICE is kidnapping people and she's uncertain what will happen to her. She grandstands for a few minutes about how "I came to this country 40 years ago! I earned my citizenship. I earned my degree. I worked as a nurse for 37 years in this community and raised my family here! Now this!? I live in constant fear that I'll be the next person ripped from my family and deported. I moved to this country for a better life and to look at how evil its become. I can't live in constant fear. Im leaving the US. I never thought Id see this going on. So we're retired now, we're moving out of the country. We're looking to move back to Mexico. "
Lol. Im not kidding. A US citizen, who is in absolutely no danger of being deported to Mexico, lives in such mortal fear of being deported to Mexico, that she's going to move to Mexico to avoid a deportation to Mexico that has zero percent possibility of even happening in the first place!
