They are leaner than in the 90s but obsessed with "fullness." Someone like Levrone wasn't extremely lean, like in the legs for example. Same with Wheeler. You had some iconic genetic structures in the 90s. How they would have fared today is not that easy to say; well it's easy to assume especially if you became a fan then but sometimes your memory might be a little too rosy. Wouldn't Hadi have won shows then? Maybe not the O but other shows for sure.

That's right I think it is a bit of a fantasy to think all the 90s guys were way ahead in conditioning they love to blow thier own trumpet about it, maybe early nineties was tighter even Levrone was more shredded then just a bit smaller, his best look though imo.

This is definitely the most interesting Olympia in a while both in classic and open. Not since the Heath vs Grapefruit battles.

today they have ripped glutes but zero separation or striations in the upper body

This is because they dont fill up hams and glutes with SEO

Hadi is about the only one with the 90s conditioning

How do you think 14 placed Jay would fare today?

JAY LOOKS GREAT THERE ,,and he was lighter /tighter/2001 awesome look ..

Yeah, I agree. 99 jay looked great 2001 good as well but I think 99 was better. I just think his trunks were a little too large.

2001 was the only olympia I ever went to and Jay looked unbelievable. The cuts in his legs, his midsection was tight, rock solid all around. Ronnie just dominated though, even though he was holding a shit ton of fluid he was so undeniably huge..it was unbelievable. Jay could have taken the sandow without a doubt, but thats not how it worked out.

I just watch in awe, not from the size and shape of this generation just amazed by how forgiving the human body is to the level of drug use and abuse required for the modern look.  Classic guys look good, the open most guys outside of Samson and Hadi to less of an extent just look like walking talking side effects.

The body only forgives for so long. These guys won't be on the planet long, at least not in good health.
