the current Mr Olympia

One of the arguments I hear about today's pros being better than 90's pros is that aside from being bigger, the stage lighting in the 90's made for a more dramatic appearance and camera quality wasn't as good therefore if the 90's guy's competed on a stage today they'd look just as washed out or if today's guys competed on a 90's era stage with similar lighting they'd be far more impressive etc.
This comparison debunks that argument. I mean Andrea Shaw has a peaked and split biceps, she's harder and more ripped than Derek lunsford.who looks like a glazed donut. Objectively Andrea looks better, the only metric Derek beats her in is size.
The average bodybuilder is between 5'8 and 5'10" or thereabouts. There's only so much weight you can add to a 5'8" -5'10" frame before losing any pleasing aesthetic. There's an ideal aesthetic, It's why superheroes are drawn the way they are, its why the actors in these comic book movies look the way they do, it's why sculptors created male statues with those same aesthetics for 100's of years. Today's pros are beyond that aesthetic.
