I don't either. To each their own. It's just that usually the religious folks have the "holier than thou" attitude and pass judgement on everyone else, without looking at themselves first.
The people w/this outlook should read Matthew 7:3-5:
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."Which is cool.
They feel 'holier'...I just think they're funnier, especially when the Baptists start trying to convince me that *all* the Jews are going to "Hell", no matter what. And don't get me started on the Mormons...
Tre, I am a Christian and I don't feel "holier" than anyone. In fact, I feel "less holy" than anyone. Most sins I commit that I'm aware of (and there are many) don't make me feel "holy" at all. I
KNOW I can't be "holy" of my own power. My (still) daily sins reinforce my feeling for need of a savior.
And whatever Baptists are telling you that "*
all* the Jews are going to "Hell" are full of crap (pardon my language

).
Let me tell you.
I know this chick, who is married. She is of course smarter, better lookin', morally correct, holier than thou, etcetera. Well, I just found out this bitch is cheating on her husband, and its not the first time. Yet this bitch has the nerve to act and think that she's better than everybody else. Always preaching and passing judgement on others. Even better, she had to have an abortion last week, because the baby wasn't her husbands.
Typical religious hypocrite.
Please don't look at the people that claim to follow Christ (because we are all imperfect failures at doing so), just investigate Christ's life as provided by the scriptures.
He was the perfect example. The rest of us suck.
