IFBB Judging nor any type of judging is not a joke. It isnt simple, and various degree of opinions between judges can cause tension. It is one thing to say that, it is another thing to actually judge a contest. It is not that simple. And unless you are there, pictures cannot tell you the story. At the Arnold Classic, some of us were judging from the photographer's corner and we got the top 4 correct. Then 5-6-7 were switched up a little. But most of the outcomes were pretty much what the judges thought. But at the local NPC levels, like this past weekens Jr. California, I found myself at odds with some of the judges opinions, as well as did others, while agreed with a lot of them, and others didnt. Sometimes symmetry or conditioning or hardness or muscularity reigns in more dominant than others. In bodybuilding and, which a lot of figure competitors complain about, they don't know what the judging standard will be for that show. Various judges have different opinions on what the desired physique should be.

As for an IFBB Promoter to be also a judge, now that is a question that can be debated. Can one that promote's various contests judge in other areas? Does it truly affect the standings. Not really. But you need to choose whether you are a promoter or a judge or a competing athlete. Now, the same question can be asked if IFBB Pros should be able to judge NPC shows? Are not they friends also with some competitors? Can everyone really not find a connection with anyone in the sport.

And just where did I suggest that? Please copy the quote for all to see....

"a good reason Flex is a photographer and not a judge"

and what might those reasons be?

Flex is a columnist and writer for Muscular Development, and takes lot of pictures. Flex would be a great judge, as when we are at various events, he usually correctly gets the top 5 down pretty well. Of course, Flex is pushy sometimes, trying to block my view, pushes my camera, steals some photographer's seats, and only likes to eat hamburgers :)

Chick is make that comment cause he can't take critism. Pur and simple.

Flex know bodybuilding way better than the current judges, I am pretty sure of it !

I agree, at the past ASC my predictions were one place off for the top 6 even though i thought 2-3 could have placed higher but i figured they wouldn't be but that came down to my personal opinion and i think you can agrue that almost every one deserved the place they got. It's rare in my opnion when you take into account that live is way better then pics that anyone really gets completely screwed but it can happen here and there but for the most part i can't say i argue with the judging except for i personally like some BBers better then others but that doesn't mean they always derserve the higher place.
