PROTEIN/CARBS GRAMS...
« on: July 04, 2006, 04:50:52 PM »
I am a morning workout person (5am).  Looking for other early workout guys and what they take (carbs/protein etc.), before and after their workout and how much (grams)...Thanks...

I am not a 5am guy but I wondered this myself, so I asked a big guy that i know that always trains at 5AM. He has his Egg whites (2 cups) so about 60grams protein and he has 2 cups of oatmeal and an orange and apple Then he Trains and sips a Gatorade through is workout and his post workout Meal is a shake while he cooks his Chicken breast and 1 cup Brown rice.  This sounds pretty good to me if i was to train at 5am.....i normally don't have that much but I also normally train after 3 meals. sorry i can't personally tell ya cuz 5am scares the hell outta me ;)

5am scares the hell out of me too..but maybe you should consider eating a low glycemic carb meal w/ a casein protein before you go to bed. That will increase your glycogen storage in the muscle. Many are hesitant about eating carbs at night but if you keep your cardio consistent throughout the week there are no worries of getting "fat". Carbs are good for you if you are an active person and train hard.
