If I had to guess, I would go with ND's claim of Rich being an even 5'8. Maybe 5'8 and 1/2 on a good day. He wasn't short enough to be classed as a "giant killer" but did beat many men much taller than him on a regular basis - Berry DeMay, Mike Christian, and Gary Strydom were all 6'1 and Rich beat all of them at one time or another. He also beat plenty of much older guys - at the 1986 Pro World he had only just turned 23 and beat Mike Christian who was 30 (over seven years older). He also beat Bertil Fox, Ron Love, Frank Richard, and many others who were over 10 years his senior.

Here he is at the 1987 Mr. Olympia at about 220 pounds and ripped to shreds!

In my book,he won Mr Olympia 1987. Way better than Haney without leg and shredded glutes.

Are you kidding me? it all has to do with how they looked in the mandatory poses and Rich was harder no question , but he couldn NOT match Haney in the side chest , side tri , front & rear biceps or latspreads not by a long shot give Rich the ab-thigh and thats about it .

munzer destroy's gaspari. he's bigger and more ripped with much more striations. all rich has is vascularity.

rich never really impressed me either from the pics i've seen. some shots he looks great, but overall, doesnt do anything for me.

Dont forget that LEGS are very important for BBing.
In 98, Haney has not been carrying enough wheels to beat Rich.
Especialy,when Haney hit Back Double bi,they look really bad.(OK,diferent way of posing from now but still weak..)

the heart attack rumors have any truth to them?i overheard some guys in the gym back in the mid 90,s sayin rich had 2 mild heart attacks,i dont believe anything i hear about bodybuilders being sick cause its usually not true,im just wonderin if anyone heard the same thing or was it a rumor goin around for awhile

I don't know about the whole Rich Vs. Munzer thing...Munzer was great then his insides melted...made him loose a couple of steps in my opinion, yeah whatever, he died for the sport. Great, just doesn't sit well with me. I don't care if people use roids, hey do what ya want but when you're dying to get in shape...I mean really dying then you need an intervention or something. I doubt Munzer could have matched rich's condition without all the shit he was on and yes I know Rich was on shit but I will never believe he was on as much stuff as Munzer. as far as who was a better BB, Rickie would crush him at his best like his Arnold victoyr condition, looked awsome. I don't think there was a guy alive that took every bodypart as far as richie did, what I mean is look at each individual bodypart and they all rank up there. He didn't have a "weak" bodypart they just didn't flow together very well.
