People pay to see physiques and they leave all those distracting signs behind the stage. Amateurs.
sponsors want the exposure but I agree it is distracting.
Personally, I think things looked a lot better when the stage was pretty much bare and the guys posed on a raised podium. I have a video of the 1982 olympia and it is like this.... draws your eyes to the guys physique more and makes them look more impressive because of the contrast.
