When was the first GH produced?
« on: September 02, 2006, 02:44:58 AM »
This buggs my mind, cos I want to know for how long athletes have been on GH. I havnt found any good sites on the net that tells the history of growth hormone. Some say its been around since the beginning of the 80s, but I talked to a guy at the gym a couple of days ago and he said that he remebered that some sort of gh was available already in 75. He remebered people were talking alot about it back then. It was the newest and supposedly the best thing and it came from Russia.

Does anybody here know when GH was first produced? Synthetic or natural..either way.

Yea, at that point it was extracted from cadavers in Russia. Although I would say '75 is a bit early.

I just think that it is interesting to know how long its been used. If you look at the physiques at the top in late 60s and early 70s its very impressive to attain that mass without gh. I read a "Star profile" in Musclemag maybe 10 years ago and I remember Franco Columbo claimed that he and his competitors didnt have any kind of growth hormone when they competed. I always thought that was just bullshit..maybe it was true.

The stuff that was made from cadavers was taken off the market becuase it caused a rare brain disease.
That is how Lyle Alzaedo (sp?) died.
Then again, I also heard that he dies from AIDS and the GH story was just a cover up.
So who knows what caused his brain cancer. It definatly was not from steriods like he was saying when he was dying !
