Yes, those 2 were probably the 2 most pleasing-to-the-eye physiques in the lineup.  But it's still hard to put them next to Ronnie or Jay and feel as though they were cheated.  The Olympia isn't so much a showcase for perfection as it is a contest to see who shows up the most "extreme."  It's that "holy shit" factor that's most rewarded in a bodybuilding show and you just can't discount the effect the extreme has on perception.  Who would you rather look like, or who should have won?  Two different answers entirely if you ask me and it's hard to make sense of that.  A bit of a paradox.

i know exactly what you mean. of course ronnie and jay absolutely "dwarf" those two when standing next to each other. but you also spoke about perfection. when being mr. olympia is not about physical perfection, then WTF is?
this dwarfing and "holy shit" emotions are so primitive. i feel that too of course, but it shouldn´t be a factor in judging and rewarding the most perfect physiques.

If you're all about male ass, I understand why you think so. And I respect you guys.

The rest of us, the heterosexuals, may have a different opinion.

I read a crazy rumor a couple of years ago about Cutler, that he'd ODd on insulin by mistake and lost his sight in one eye. In every picture he is squinting... could it be true? Anyone else heard this?

Remember the last time Flex Wheeler looked good at the Arnold (I think it was 2003?), when Chad FORCED him to look good one more time even after he'd done enough GH to have to get braces?
So it's true that GH can alter the facial structure enough so that you have to get braces because you get gaps between the teeth?

Cutler has nothing amazing.
He's not super big.  (like coleman)
He's not really aesthetic.
He's not super conditionned (like yates).

No, he is correct.  Jay did not beat a 100% Coleman; he beat a Coleman with half a back, no left tricep and horrible legs and glutes (which is saying something since he had some of the best wheels ever).  Jay worked like hell and deserved to beat Coleman.  Too bad that he looked worse than both Dex and Vic.  Regardless, Vic will ascend to the throne in time as he is the first person since pre-bloat Colema with everything.  Coleman needs to hang up them trunks as I do not feel he has the drive or physical ability to overcome his injuries.  Game is on for 2007.

I agree... there is no way (and yeah I know he's much bigger then either) he in a physique competition should beat either Dex or Vic...

I agree about Coleman too... his physique looks tired and "beat up"...

ronnie didnt give the mr o to jay...as neither of them should be in the top 2...anthony was the real winner, and rockel is better than jay, so is dex.

Jay didn't win this year's O.  Ronnie lost it.
Obviously, you haven't seen the pictures.  Jay came in better than ever, and believe me, to topple the 8time "O", you would have to knock him out.  And Jay clearly did, in the 1st round at that.  Second place is not that bad, Ronnie is still a legend, time to pass the torch.

I've seen all pics mate.

I actually think Ronnie looked better at the night show then he did at pre judging and TBH just don't see Jay as a Mr Olympia.  To me he's nothing special.  He has hardly any detail to his muscles and just looks boring to me.  I'd still pick Ron as the winner but this is a subjective sport and that's what makes it interesting.

a gift was given yesterday night to jason cutler; a gift from a 50% ron coleman. ron coleman was not on stage. he wasnt on stage on friday either.

the IFBB is not at fault here,, they gave the title to a hard worker and a good guy that prove that even with  average genetics you can achieve your goals as long as you work smart and keep drug intake consistant.

jason cutler looked HORRIBLE but he was conditioned and 90-100% on spot (with wider than ever torso that included improved lats/wider waist and ofcourse no arms). ron coleman was no where to be found.

if ron coleman ever decide to show up in vegas and prepare accordingly,,he will win his 9th and 10th titles,,,wether its at 44 or 45 it wont matter. he is in a leage  of his own.

2006 and 1976 are the worst years ever for bodybuiding but! sometimes you just gotta appriciate hard work and dedication.

congrats cutler. a win is a win.
im going  back to sleep

last time i checked both ronnie and Jay had the same time to compete....

bottom line Ronnie didnt bring it...if ronnie was 100% its his damn fault...

congrats to Jay

for all the compainers,,,you need to understand one thing,, there is no other bodybuilder on planet earth that is more happy than me that jason cutler is mr O. i love the guy,,he has a heart of gold and a fighter to the end.

yes he has average genetics,, yes he has no arms to write home about,,yes he is blocky,,but he bring the best out of him and improves what he can,,and THATS the story of jason cutler in every aspect of life.

dont think even for a second that i do not acknowledge this tremendous win by a white guy from some country town in usa,,that came against all odds and ended up mr o.

as always you will see that he will try to make the best out of this position,, and promote bodybuilding to the best of his ability,, and all through the process will never change his colors and remain true to himself and his wife.

pheniminal job and hope for everyone who ever touch weights and decide to take bodybuilding seriously.

again congrats,,i take my hat off.

Bottomline......both Ronnie and Jay looked like shit.......it was a totally political decision, there were at least 5 other people that could have been top two easily!

We all know Cutler won, we are all just hoping him the best on retaining his title in the future for his structure is more flawed than a bullet-holed-hull boat on its way down.....Sorry....LoL... .
