Batfreak was an avid llifter/bber. Had a tat of the Batman emblem on his delt, looked like he could win some amatuer shows. He stopped posting here back in 2002. So did Decakid, he was a college student who was trying to get in shape naturally. Knew his shit, didn't get his Vickies in bunch like TA when it came to his natural status, hench his handle "Decakid". Didn't have delusions of graduer, just some guy wanting to get in shape.  I think his name was Tom Sweeney. Dude looked good and ripped, because he was on the track team as well.

There were others, but if they talked smack...whether it was about physiques or lifts, they backed it up.

..so after thinking about it over the ol' morning DEUCE, I figured it out....

NOBODY on Getbig is respected for what they do well, how good they look or anything else.  The most popular board members are largely so due to their:

a.  Arrogance
b.  Laughable antics
c.  Questionable physiques
d.  Insulting capability with lacking proof of physique

What I'm getting at is that there really isn't anybody here who is 'popular' due to things like....a GREAT bodybuilding physique and great attitude.  Nothing new under the sun, but I'd like to see some folks here who have the knowledge, capability and sense of sportsmanship get their dues....just once, at least!

Here's a few examples...

240   ..started out as an insane owning maniac, melted down into a quasi-business man whose main goal is to destroy Chick (lately) and promote the PDI.

ALEXX   ...arrogant self styled heir to the Mr Getbig throne..yet can't see that he placed LAST.

True Adonis    ....I'm certain this guy is somewhat having fun with this notoriety, yet still....something with this boy ain't right.

Melvin Goodrum   ...for God's sakes, modern science can't explain this train wreck of a human being.

Vince Basile  ....slowly eroding into a Haterade sipping Anti-Melvin shadow of his former Mr Canada, steroid hating, pink excercise equipment training self.

...that's about it for now.  Who here can step up with an example of a person who gets props who ISN'T an insult slinging "bodybuilder" with a lack of titles or even physique photos?

Far as I can tell, the most 'famous' folks are known for the reasons I stated above.  We're generally a negative board, and it shows.  So be it, I have a good time reading up on things here.

Matt T, I wasn't naming names, I was just thinking of those who really stuck out in my mind as the local yokels....you're infamous for outting 240, which by far was the slickest owning I've ever witnessed.  And I don't see you post often, at least not in the gossip section.  I know there's lots of positivity in the history and training sections of Getbig.

There are a lot of smart guys here who are witty and funny. Others come here to reinvent themselves and get exposed for their trouble. Goodrum is the classic misfit here. The guy gets those Anthony Robbins tapes from Ebay and then determines to forge a career in bodybuilding. He almost got away with it. Had he not competed or posted any photos then his reputation would be okay. Instead he posts photos and erases whatever hard work he has done. The one thing people here insist on is integrity. If you lose it then you are history here. Goodrum has to now win something but goodness me what a task. In the meantime guys like him shouldn't be charging anyone for professional advice because he has no standing whatsoever in this industry.

Onlyme and sarcasm and a few other heroes belong on the list. Bob Chick is known here and so is Lee Priest. Lee is definitely a role model.

As far as putting me on that list it is a surprize. I am the only one there who has won a national title, owns a gym and has a gym equipment factory. Plus I am a published author in the past. I don't mind playing the fool on Getbig but I am hardly that. I have tried to discuss theories of hypertrophy but few are interested. I have posted images of recent gym equipment that I have made. Pray tell me what any of the other guys have done in the Irongame? I credit 240 for his web site work.

Only me and I talk on the phone now and then and have a good laugh at some of the knuckleheads here. At least we retain a balanced mind and have a good sense of humour and can also laugh at ourselves.

Goodrum was known as delusional before he competed Vince.  It was just less obvious.  A lot of the people here were too stupid to make a conclusion until they had pictures to go with the full story.

He's been posting stupid shit for years.  I used to mercelessly follow him around making him explain his bullshit but fact of the matter is that doesn't matter how long you spend talking to the guy - he will come back with more stupidity.

No matter how hard we try to knock some sense into him he comes out with new schemes to reinvent himself. The guy is resourceful but a danger to himself to say the least. Rocket, Onlyme and Goatboy have been trying to put a straightjacket on him but haven't been successful so far. Look at how he evaded being captured in a well publicized contest at the Mountaineer?
