I am not one to say anything bad, and thisguy is definitely strong as hell but I just don't like spotters anywhere near the bar.  You can say he had just his fingertips or whatever but I guarantee you that can assist in lifting at least 20 to 40 lbs.  The lift was perfect and his form and everything I just wish when guys do this they don't have a spotter that close.  I never use a spotter.  If I'm not going to be able to do the weight I may not do it but it will only lay on my chest for a second.  I will be holding it till someone comes over.  A spot like that is worthless in my opinion cause if that guy dumpled it hard fingertips won't help.  If you are going to have a spooter have them place their hands well below or above the bar.  Don't touch the whole way.  Great lift anyway.

only me, question for you...I was checking out some articles in the powerlifting forum. You said that his form was fine. But those articles/guys in the forum said to keep the elbows in, spread the legs wide apart. Also to bring the bar lower down on the chest.

this guy was lifting the bar like a bodybuilder..

just trying to learn.
Here comes the money shot

that "powerlifting form" looks horrible, these clowns lay there with their feet back by their ears, belly 4 feet in the air, chest down, it looks stupid, the bodybuilding form is way more impressive.

Why do you think people use spotters anyway, have you ever think about that? And do you know how to spot properly? What I mean is that is just what you do, when you are a spotter; you assist a lift as much it is needed and help a lifter to use up all his energy for the last rep. You don't use force, you just use your fingertips to make load somewhat lighter, and be ready for collapse if lifter can't accomplish his last rep. Spotting like this you can improve your lifters workout pretty much, because you are giving him a way to complete exhaust his muscles. I have done some serious spotting with bb:ers and power lifters, and I always look at the guy who ask me to spot him. If I see that he is serious and he is going to give everything for that exercise, I do my best to help him. If I see that he is only some bozo who doesn't even try, I wait for him to collapse under the barbell and only then I release him. When they sweat few seconds with barbell on their chest, they try much harder next time  ;D

Never and you can ask anyone I have ever trained with.  My thing is if I need help taking it off the rack then I ain't doing the weight.  I know my limits.  I know exactly if I am going to be able to lift the weight by the way it feels taking it off the rack.  If it feels heavy I won't do it.  I have done weight where I thought I could do it and didn't but I just hold the weigh on the bottom and wait for the help.  Ask anyone hat has seen me train.  I just don't like the idea of having someone close by.  It gives me the false impression that someone is there tohelp me and kinds of makes it so I don't try as hard.  Its alsmost I put in my mind that if I don't do this this I will dump it on me.  It gives me more power guess.

I have spotted a zillion guys.  People I don't even know will ask me.  My size or whatever.  The way I spot is If they want a liftoff i give it to them.  Once thats done I stay above them and I watch the bar and them.  Once I see how they are handling the weight down and as long as the bar is going up I don't do a thing.  Once it comes back down at all I help as little as possible as long as the bar is going up.  I have never once ever had anyone say anything but great spot.  You can tell allot by the way the guys lowers the bar.  I can see it he is straining or his arms are shaking.  Once he hits his chest I am looing at the bar with my hands maybe a couple inches away.  If the bar drops that when I start helping.  And I help as little as possible.  The way I do it I am sure is not fro everybody but it is the way I have done it forever.  If I am doing forced reps then its another story.  But a regular workout thats what I like.  I know I never had a spotter when I lifted heavy.  Cause if I am going to miss it I won't miss it by much.  So I know I can hold it enough to wait for help.  I mean I don't just load weight and lift heavy.  If I am doing a serious weight I will have someone their but out of my line of sight.

that's extremely impressive Keith, to take the kind of weight you were benching off by yourself and then get it in the right positon above your chest takes a lot of strength, i like a lift off not really to take the weight off but to get it centered above the correct spot above my chest.
