to me its a racial thing. i get more attention by black and latin women then white women, and im white. for the past 4 years ive dated nothing but latin girls. i see alot of white women that im attracted to, but they always say "ewww your too big". usually after they make that comment i will grab their sides and say "your fat", even though they arent.. just to bring down their self esteem......... i think in the hispanic/black community being big is a macho thing and is respected, while in the white community its looked down upon(meathead, dumb, egotistical etc...). im  just stating my expereince with the women out here.

I read in the book Pumping Iron that in the Middle East, bodybuilding is the second most popular spectator sport. Soccer being the first, of course. I'm not sure what it's like now, since the book's a tad old. Oh yeah, and it's really popular in Iraq. You know, it's like the mecca of the sport. However, with the war and all, I'm not sure if people are going to the shows much, if at all.

just wondering which if any countries around the world where a pro or top amateur physique is respected and by women loved and wanted by?

we all know here in the u.s. supposedly 75 percent or more of women are turned off by a pro/top amatuer physique unless 1) their fit and built themselves 2) their older rich women who only need a man for the horizontal slide 3) the small percentage of women WHO DO LIKE bodybuilders bodies. even though i still think if a pro or amatuer bb is a gentleman and makes a good living, treats them well, and dresses nice, etcetera, nearly all u.s. women would suddenly find bb hot! but i digress,

anyway, which countries are bb respected and women crave them. my own personal guess would be countries where sexuality is how should i say more "open" meaning for instance countries where women where thongs on the beaches and guys wear bikini's ( no, i'm not getting all gay on you people!), i'm just saying this is an example in that here in the u.s. a guy would be laughed at and called a queer if he wore a bikini/posing suit on the beach or the pool no matter how straight or how great his build was. other countries this is not an issue.

this pervasive attitude would include european countries and australia, but i'm pretty sure most european women are not into bodybuilders and australian women maybe just a little bit more but not much  into bb either. so my guess would be south american countries ( brazil,argentina, mexico for example) where due to their continued " machismo" attitude of what a man is and should act, that a bb physique in latin countries is seen as more of how should i say " more manly, masculine and therefore a turn on to latin women. the bigger, more musclebound the man, the more he is considered a man and attractive in these countries.

of course, i know you can generalize entire countries and their women's attitude toward men, but it's a thought.

There's probably a a difference depending on the masculinity/femininity of the country (a socio-cultural-psychological dimension).

In a macho culture beeing muscular will be more of an asset then a less macho country.
