I'm not a fun one to argue with, that's for sure.  Many years on a debate team combined with the gift of gab, makes it fun :).  I'm pretty laid back 99% of the time.  However, should I take a disliking to someone, I can be a royal pain.  Now that I'm out of the industry and not dating anyone that competes, I don't have to watch myself.

I'm heading out to the race track, catch ya later.

Many years on a debate team...

Those Charlotte schools produced some *monster* debate teams over the years, no question about that.

I'm one of the few on this board that has put on a pro show.  Tell me how a promoter is supposed to make money when the "sanctioning fee's" and prize purse for mens bodybuilding/womens bb'ing/figure/fitness totals 76k dollars?  That doesn't count the expenses of the judges, which have to be paid for by the promoter, plus 500 bucks or whatever to each judge post show.

Their system is setup to fail.  You get NOTHING for that 76k dollars.  I asked to used the NPC mailing list and was told no.  All I wanted to do was let people know about the show.  Please tell me how a new show is supposed to generate at least 100k in profit in order to break even?  The biggest show of the year only draws 5k people.  Sponsors aren't going to nut up if you don't have a history of people coming into your event.  You can put the show near the arnold or the olympia because people have the big cash outlay for those events.

It's a flawed system and I for one would LOVE to see it fall or change hands.  This is just coming from the business side.  I won't even get into the competition side of things.  I have some REALLY good stories for that one.

A great post!

One question.  Does the PDI suspend any of their athletes who compete in another federation?  Is whats good for the goose good for the gander?  I don't believe anyones brought up this before.  Lee, 240 anyone?

You must not have been paying attention when the PDI started up.  One of the founding tenets was that you'd be free to enter any contest of any organization.

Pro Division Inc is not in competition with any other organization or federation. It is only to provide another
avenue for the Bodybuilding athlete to compete on a professional level with different criteria and standards.

The Sports Act of 1978, and a subsequent ruling on the matter in 1983, has given amateur athletes the right to compete in any organization any time they wish without fear of threats or reprisals.

They make use of BBer because they are stupid. ;)
Ain't that the truth and they know what ever they do or throw at the Bodybuilders they will do nothing about it.

This post has allot of good points.  Why should their be only 1 kid on the block calling all the shots.  The window of opportunity for a bodybuilder is only so long.  Why would any federation not wish the best earning not to mention the prestige of winning a crossover show?  One question.  Does the PDI suspend any of their athletes who compete in another federation?  Is whats good for the goose good for the gander?  I don't believe anyones brought up this before.  Lee, 240 anyone?

Lee - when will you be moving to France?  Since you continue to lie about dating Adella you might has well join the French P*ssy's.  Plus they are most likely your size.  But if you hit woman in France they will cut your hand off...
