a video game ?

I saw a major meltdown from my brother today with controller throwing, and cursing, he even spit at the TV. LOL

That is the best part of video games.
Especially sports games, when the computer screws you over.

Funnier. In college we used to play knock out kings (im not sure what the new boxing game is titled). But when we used to play we talked so much shit to where there would be actual fist fights as a result of the video game. If i were beating up someone on the game real bad they would say..."well you cant do it in real life".You know some crap like that. And from there it would warp into an all out fist fight.

I remember my last meltdown.

I was playing madden on all-madden in franchise mode year#7 (yes I used to be one of those madden nation guys)...anyway, I was going on my seventh straight undefeated season and seventh straight super bowl.

I was up pretty big late, and "the computer started cheating" (this is the common statement usually said by gamers before they go NUCLEAR,so if you hear someone say it..either duck, don't talk to them or stand by to witness a meltdown of epic proportions!)...anyway, they came back on my team via some unGODly, never will happen in a million years plays and I lost the super bowl.

I twisted the controller in my hand until it cracked in half (literally) and picked up my play station and tossed that devil,back stabbing bastard across the room. About 5 seconds went by and I remember thinking wtf did I just do. My wife was dying laughing at me. She just said "Don't get mad because you can't WIN!"

Ever since that day whenever she saw me playing madden she'd always say,"I don't know why you play, You SUCK!" and/or "Is the computer kicking your a$$ again?"

I have since retired from game play now completely demoralized, insecure and unmotivated with the haunting phrase from the movie CARRIE "they're all gonna laugh at you!" playing over and over in my mind. LOL

ok heres what ya do if you are losing at madden, just turn the fucking game off before it saves and start over . Thats what I do.

Yeah I know.LOL!!!

I was young (in the head) and on some madden gamer pride sh*t at the time. Felt I was better or beyond that since I'd been in tournaments..etc. That would have saved me some dignity though and $$$ LOL.

I've broken 3 $40 mice, a keyboard, $85 headphones and split my desk in half playing counter-strike over the years. And yes, I do have anger control problems and no, it wasn't a strong desk.

You would miss that last moment of super rage if you shut down the machine and gave up.

Closest I came was when my father-in-law brought my son a McNabb Eagles jersey for his birthday.

I'm a lifelong Niners fan. My wife was videotaping. I was not happy. I don't think she sent that footage to her father.

I hear ya.

It's never ceases to amaze me how a damn computerized video game can make even the most GOD fearing, patient,polite,eloquent people go absolutely fu*king POSTAL when sh*t starts going downhill while they are on the controller.

While I was in the service, I had a senior chief that dedicated his off/on hours to mastering madden since he heard how good I was at it. He played for like month straight ALL DAY sometimes. I played maybe 2-3 times that month. He beat up on some good players along the way. Finally the moment of truth arrived. He actually called me down off of watch to run a game. The entire division came down to watch and pass along the score like it was a super bowl or some sh*t.

Anyway he scored and was up 14-0 early. Everyone was in my ears talking smack since I was supposed to be the man. By the third quarter, I had him down 54-14 in the 3rd qtr with 2 min left. He was fu*king beet red SMOKING pissed. He shook my hand smiling, quit and left the room.

The next morning the game was gone. He put down "there will be no video games played in the shop anymore" the next day. LMFAO. Fu*ker wanted to kill himself I bet from that a$$ Ownage! He didn't speak to me for days then finally he came to me on watch one day and was like "man how long did you train for the game" I told him how long and he got even more pi$$ed. LMAO!

LOL... I confess I've thrown my controller a couple of times playing Gamecube with my boy, who's 13 and far better than I am (because he plays the freakin thing all the time). He kills me at Goldeneye and Super Smash Bros Melee. I can hold my own in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Mario Kart, though.

Haha, i hear ya. I've played cs for a while some years ago.

Especially frustrating when you're about to kill a couple of noobs and then BAM, you lag for a second and it's over for the next 4 minutes.

He would get drunk, play Tekken or something, lose badly and then stub his smoke out on the machine in a fit of rage. He was also known to get in to fights with his flatmate over games of Resident Evil.

Snapped a few controllers.

I don't know which was worse though! stamping my playstation to death or punching myself in the face? I got stuck on one stage getting my last licence. I spent the whole day and most of the night just on one fucking lap. Everytime missing out by just tenths of a second. I don't know if I was just tired, pissed off or both but I just snapped lol

back in the day playing sega genesis, especially NBA jams my friend would have some serious meltdowns. in that game, if you are gettin killed the computer makes it easy for you to come back and make it close by helping you out with ridiculous shots, etc. well he was the best player at it but me and my friend came back and hit a half time buzzer beater to beat him.

he lost it. he had this big ass Pirate Lego ship, like this huge one that took him awhile to do, and he spiked one controller on it and completely smashed it. he was screaming "this is not fair, this is not right", and then kept saying 'WHAT IS THIS CRAP!!!", wihle me and my friend were laughing so hard we would answer "a video game". that would just make him madder. he stomped on his other controller until buttons and wires popped out, his dog came down and was barkig up a storm the whole time, and it was late and his mom woke up to see what the fuss was about. I have never seen such complete loss of of self control like that. wow. that alone makes video games tight
