I requested and received a certificate for 12 laser treatments to remove underarm hair.  Have any of you had laser treatments to remove unwanted hair?  Were you satisfied with the results?

I haven't but I do have a client that had her whole body done.  She is very pleased.  She hasn't had to shave her legs, under arms or bikini area in over a year.

12 treatments just for your pits?  I'm not sure what laser you'll be using but I'd say 4 or even 5 treatments at the most should take care of it.  If it does, you could perhaps choose another area to zap.

I had my underarms and bikini line done and yes, I'm very satisfied w/the results.  I think I only had 3 treatments in each area though. 

Make sure you get some good numbing cream and slather it on and then put some saran wrap or something on it to keep it in place for at least an hour before your treatments.   They may have to do a few "test zaps" first though to see what level your skin will tolerate w/o becoming overly irritated or burned.  They did 3 zaps on me w/o being numb and I screamed out loud 3 times. someone had told me that it cost 2500 per treatment per bodypart like back......

Well my friend, your in luck. My best friend just did it. Here in Toronto, Canada it will run you anywhere between 200 - 400 bucks per session on average. Multiply that by twelve sessions. Not cheap. Mind you, he did back treatments. The plus side, you never have to worry about, nair, neet, painful waxing or a razor again.

I went when it was still relatively new so the price has hopefully come down now.  Seemed like back then the lady said some guys were having their backs done beginning at $800 for the first treatment! 

I can't really remember what my areas cost but it seems like the initial treatment was more than the subsequent treatments.  I was going to have my legs done, but the pain was just not worth it to me.  If somehow it's less painful now though, I would consider it.

   I think Dina has talked about this before.  I looked into it but my hair color makes me a bad candidate for it.    


 
 Influence of hair color on laser hair removal.

Dark hair absorbs more laser energy and is easier to treat. Coarse dark hair responds the best to laser treatment. Light hair is more difficult to treat. Blonde or red hair is very difficult to treat. Multiple treatment sessions are required, and results are variable. Blonde or red hair usually contains pheomelanin, which absorbs laser energy less avidly than the eumelanin pigment which is present in black or brown hair.

Very true, Flower. My father had his back done and it does not pick up grey hairs. Why I do not know but certain hair colours it just won't do.
