Shareware question
« on: January 17, 2007, 03:10:14 PM »
OK, I've used Limewire for years, but it's all spammed out.  HYOPTHETICALLY, what's the best shareware to use and where/how would I download it?  Thanks, GB...

Agreed, I hate those little fuckers who miss label movies and you get some bullshit in place of what you were trying to download.

It depends.  Limewire is still a great client for the gnutella network, but you have to know how and when to use it.  If you use it at the wrong time you will find junk and spam.  If you use it at the right time, you will find exactly what you are looking for.  I still prefer Limewire over Bit Torrent and routinely download anything I want from movies to music to software.

I'm on a Mac and Limewire works great for me, but if I were on a PC I'd be using bearshare.

Viruses aren't a problem on the Mac but if you're on a PC you better have some good virus software before downloading in earnest.

Send me a private message for more info (on using Limewire).

Limewire is LOADED with spyware. Bay is correct, you better have some serious protection if you're using it. In my opinion their's just too much crap on Limewire to make it a useful tool anymore.

ya bearshare is good..but its now a paysite. monthly membership to download quality tracks. they let you use it for free for the first 30days i believe.....then if you havent signed up for a monthly pay membership, every song you downloaded gets removed from your computer(or most anyways).

right now i use limewire and if youre careful as to what your downloading(eg. file size) you should be ok. if youre trying to download movies use the BITZI option to double check that your downloading the correct file.
