Yup, Toxie, the movie. Mentioned it to one guy at the gym this morning and pretty soon it was a water-cooler conversation with everybody throwing out the lines as they went back to their workouts. Pretty funny, actually. Lotsa 'diesels.' And the blank stares on the girl's faces...

  Great video. I have it. What calls one's atrention about the training of Dorian is that he actually concentrates on the muscular contraction, and not on the poundage or number of reps. He does almost "clinical" reps, the kind that you find in exercise physiology books, and he controls the weight throughout the exercise to maximize the stress, not cheating or using momentum. This results in relatively low training poundages whwn compared to Coleman or Ruhl, who use lots of explosive power and momentum in their training. There's a part where Dorian rows 5 plates a side for 6 clinical reps; if he used explosive movements and momentum and cheated, he could possibly have rowed 6 plates a side for 6 reps. Frightful strengh.

honestly thats more impressive to me than regular reps

why?

1) speaks volumes about his self esteem
2) polly equals to him being stronger than ronnie


i do 'clinical' reps for everything..i even squat clinically...for the most part (the last few reps non withstanding)..

and i absolutely believe thats the key to optimal muscle growth...

you can substitute perfect reps with heavier weights though...which is what most do..

Ronnie had a gut like that onstage, while in shape. While in his latter years doz was guilty of a pretty bad gh gut. No one touches king ron when it comes to sheer gut size. There are several shots of ronnie where you just sjake your head and wonder how he could step on stage looking like that.
