Is there any way to be charitable without...

Donating time or money? My mom says I should be more "charitable", I'd like to make her proud, but not enough to give away my time or money.

i  was always told that charity begins at home. sometimes just saying something nice to someone by giving them a nice compliment can do wonders.  or just saying to someone who just had a  death in the family or something.."i'm sorry", is a form of being charitable. (just a thought)... ;)  i also like the idea of giving away the old clothes or furniture.  also, you may want to try the website mysoldier.com.  (you can write to soldiers who are in the war through this website). i tried it. i didn't get any letters back, but it made me feel good!  :)

one other thing...you can stick up for the smaller dude at a gym if a bigger dude picks on them. (that's another way of being nice).   8)  you get to use your muscles too!
