Biblical Names
« on: February 14, 2007, 06:40:48 AM »
I find the biblical names strange, where did they arise?

Were the names John, Mark, Peter, Andrew, Michael etc actually legitimate names of that area of the world at that particular period?

Or does it have something to do with the English King James translation?

My guess is that they are Hebrew, Latin or Greek names that have been translated into English.  In Spanish: Juan, Marco, Pedro, Andres, Miguel.
