Most passionately detested heel?
« on: March 18, 2007, 09:46:48 AM »
Triple-H talking on PBW on how he was so hated during his heel days that they had to move him to different hotels got me wondering who might have been even more despised by the audience.

My historical knowledge of the field is too spotty to make a confident nomination. But I do remember that - for geopolitical reasons that may be difficult for the young 'uns to fully appreciate now - it was like the Five Minute Hate when this guy preceded the bout by singing the Soviet national anthem...

Wow. There's so many. As a wrestling fan growing up I can name a few. Ric Flair during the late 70's and 80's, for sure. That 'I'm rich, styling and profiling' attitude pissed a lot of people off. He was the best at drawing heat, no question.

Abdullah the Butcher, Terry Funk, Harley Race. There were tons of heel wrestlers who were great at it. Nowadays, who cares. Wrestling is absolutely terrible these days. No good heel or face characters that anyone still cares about.

Karl Kox probably has a few he can rattle of.
