Another Catholic teaching that has no reference in the Bible, thrown out the door. Being raised a Catholic I still can't believe how many people worship the Pope as much as they worship God. At least I don't practice Catholisim, nor any religion, anymore.

Purge, I have heard that the Catholic church claims that it's teachings are infallible (which would imply the bible is fallible) and that the Catholic church determines what is true and correct even though the teachings change over the years.  Is this correct and if so, what are your feelings regarding this claim?

STella, this is true. I grew up be ing baptized, going to Sunday school, had Confirmation, and even served as an Altar boy for ALL of my years until I went out on my own at 22. And it amazes me all the people that the Catholic Church have control over.

  Some Catholics believe that to be the case, but as we see here, there's always room for progress. I like the Catholic proceddings and such, but I don't believe in much of the dogma.

The catholic church interprets scripture. If the Catholic church is wrong then it's interpretation is wrong, not necessarily scripture. However not all catholics believe that the Catholic church is infallible or even scripture is infallible for that matter.

Holding either the bible or Catholic church as infallible is absurd because both imply truth is dynamic.
