If you read Lou's book, you would understand where he is comming from. the first part of the book covers how his father robbed him emotionaly as a child and into his adult life. Constantly putting him down for his hearing issues and stating that he would never win and that he sounded like a retard when he spoke on the camera and no-wonder he could hardly get coverage audio wise after a win. Also said that Arnold would always beat him in everything in life because he could hear and speak better than Lou. His father apparently hung up on Joe Weider when he called for Lou to come out to California- jealousy.
His father said to him in regards to his comeback in the 90's.........."to not expect any support from me"- "I just can't bear to see you lose again- you have no chance against these young guys today"

Waaa...Waaa...Waaa...may the world feel sorry for me for what I went through.  ::)

I don't need to read his book to know where he is coming from. He's a jerk. Period.

You must be a "fan".  :-[

  And if so, why?

Cauze it was exaclty two months before a contezt, he's dead there'z nothing to be done ;D. If this is true, it could be because Lou's dad used to mock him because of his speech and hearing problems.

Ugh, my retirement grease

If what Lou claims there is true, then I can't blame him if he indeed didn't attend the funeral.

I know this thread is about Lou supposedly not attending his fathers funeral but i wanna know.
Dose anyone think its cool that he charges for his autographs? On PBW he said something like he thinks its ok if he charges $20 for his autograph or to have a picture taken with him, but did he really achieve that much in bodybuilding. I realise he is a very well known bodybuilder but i mean current (better) bodybuilders dont charge anything for an autograph or to have a picture taken with them. Why does he? just wondering what you guys think. :)
No doubt about it...

Get this. Lou Ferrigno has been on record as saying that his caliber is on the same level as Tom Cruise.  ::)

There were probably opportunities to sell autographs at the funeral.

I can sort of see where he's coming from. Other bodybuilders like Jay and Ronnie have generous contracts from supplement companies and are obligated to give some of their merchandise away for free, but because Lou doesn't have a contract, he brings those photos to conventions to sell them to make money. I've attended several of the conventions that Lou has and there are B-movie stars who don't have a fraction of the recognition that he has but still charge the exact same amount for an autographed photo.

I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT LOU DID NOT GO TO HIS FATHERS FUNERAL. MATT DIED ON AUGUST 21 2003 IN BROOKLYN NEW YORK . HE TOLD HIS MOM HE COULD NOT GO BECAUSE HE WOULD MISS A COMIC BOOK CONVENTION WHERE HE RIPS PEOPLE OFF FOR 20 BUCKS FOR AN AUTOGRAPH.

If he didn't do it, he must have a really good reason.

It's his father after all.
