http://www.mmanews.com/ufc/Dana-White-Compares-Rampage-To-Buster-Douglas.htmlPretty damn low IMO. Why play favorites with your athletes when you're in the business of making money?
Me thinks that Dana and the UFC and are starting to question their decision to bring Pride athletes over.
On a second note, all of the Pride upcoming fights have changed their status to TBA (to be announced). Why would you kill a profitable business by closing it down. Unless that was the plan all along. Instead of "beating" the competition, buy them out and shut them down.
This will backfire. This leaves an opening for another company to step in and fill the void with Pride style rules and high level competitors. The Ferrita brothers are not the only rich guys out there.
Back to original post...these kind of statements only confirm for me that Dana is small time. Think about it, Pride has been dismantled, UFC is really the only MMA game in town. SO here's the chance for the UFC to shine. It can bring in world famous fighters and make them fight on the UFC's home turf with their rules against their pre-marketed fighters. It would seem that its the UFC time to "step to the plate".
And is anybody impressed? Seriously? HAve any hardcore fans really enjoyed any recent UFC fights? The best MMA fight I can think of was the Pride HW Grandprix. Remember the great matchups, Wandy KOing Fujita? NOG and Barnett? And to think at the end a GREAT story was being written for Mirko (winning on his B-day) to get the challenge against a healed and waiting Fedor...god dammit, that was drama. And then what happened? Mirko walks away, Fedor fights Hunt and decides to play with Bodog. The UFC moves in, talks some shit and buys them out.
And what do we have now? a snooze-fest....
