Chris Benoit case and the media on 'roids
« on: June 28, 2007, 07:47:34 AM »
The news media is acting like steroids may be the blame for the murder/suicide of wrestler Chris Benoit and his wife/kid.These are the some groups that acted like creatine was a steroid...wtf?
Obviously Chris had some serious inner mentle problems and may have needed to be on some kind of meds???
while I think it possible for a person to have some mood swings when on and then off a lot of juice, I doubt it would be the primary cause of a murder/suicide.
Lots of suicidal people and  killers that never got close to a steroid.
This is like trying to blame violent video games for school shootings. 99.99% of those who do some roids or play video games don't commit crimes of violence.
In my opinion, this may trickle back down to bodybuilding and end up being a witch hunt.

It really pathetic that our country hears about a person that uses AAS and committs a violent crime and AAS is to blame...With logic like this we might as well go back several hundred years to the "witch hunting" days and see if AAS users are capable of committing crimes by tying their feet to a weighted object and observing if they can float or not in water with the result being that if they sink then they are not capable and if they float they will committ a violent crime...This has been ludicrous and continues to get worse through the media's twisting of AAS users.... >:(

The reason that society blames drugs or games for violent acts is because we live in a world where no one takes responsibility for their own actions.

They can say what they want but that isn't the case anymore as the toxology reports showed that Beniot's system was clean of drugs at the time of the murders. The general public and media's knowledge on steroids is ridiculous anyway. Steroids build muscle and recooperate injuries. They don't make you buy a plane ticket, fly home, pick up a cord and kill your family. If Steroids make you kill, half the globe would be dead. What kills me is how they blame steroids for everything. They never blame the pain killers, the anti-anxiety pills, the cocaine, the meth and other shit that people abuse. This whole thing has blown way out of proportion.
Recent deaths in wrestling:

Elizabeth Hulett - overdose on pain killers while mixing vodka.
Bam Bam Bigelow - accute cocaine intoxification
Pitbull#1 - ditto
Curt "Mr.Perfect" Henning - ditto
Eddie Guerrero - Pain killer abuse (plus he was a recovering junkie)
Kerry Von Eric - Suicide (toxology reports showed extremely high levels of cocaine in his system)
Mike Awesome - ditto
levels of cocaine in his system)
Sensational Sherri - yet to be determined...don't tell me she was gased.

Plus what wrestlers take is a drop in the bucket compared to what professional bbdr's take. The media and general public are very, very uneducated when it comes to knowledge and facts on AAS.

YUP! Good pts also Playbpoy and others.

Sadly unless a full scale conressional hearing was done where EVERYONE could speak openly and honestly with immunity, the steroid in sports issue wiil NEVER be dealt with in a useful, logical and sensible way.

Until that unlikely day, scare tactics, rumors and witch hunting with scapegoats will the the rule of the day.
Ironic how those that spoke in candid terms at actual heearings are often considered "villians".
Back in 1988  , Charlie Francis , coach of dq'd steroid user and world class sprinter Ben Johnson, gave some canid testimony on the reality of steroid use in track and field.
Reesult- He was branded as a cheater and liar???wtf?????
I simply wish everyone could simply be  honest and open about this issue.

Anyone who believes steroids were the culprit here is a dumb fucking idiot.  Truth is, a fair amount of people even in the general public are smart enough to know better.

I actualy cant read the british papers about this case because the ignorance is just too extreme!

People drink alcohol and get violent/ commit crimes thousands of times a day and is there a big out cry?

There are also endless sickos out there commiting murder, rape etc and how many of them even know what a steroid is?

Fuck sake its so annoying!

The DEA is all over the area around here and has chased down a few leads, etc. They raided Chris's Docs office in Carrolton, Ga   (60 miles west of ATL) and are pretty closed lipped over what was found.
If you remember Lex Lugar and Miss Elizabeth was big muder case a couple years ago(???) and was in the ATL area and the roids issue was brought up .
I have hunch that BB is going to get hit with some kind of investigation? who knows?

No need to create a new thread when there's already a 40 page thread on Benoit, media, steroids, etc.
