Pros weights - why should you beleive them?
« on: June 30, 2007, 09:07:10 PM »
pros don't have to weigh in like they do in the NPC's so why do people believe Ronnie when he says he's 294, or Jay when he says he's 282 or Darrem when he says he 235, or Dexter when he says he's 230, my belief is that these guys all add 15-25 pounds to their weights.

I generally don't believe their weights unless I see them first hand..

I saw some bber's weigh in at the Aus Pro this year and Martin Kjellstrom a day before was a legit 290..

The scale was legit, I tested it myself ;D

Just like their height......reminds me of the WWF's guys....if they're 6 feet tall, they claim to be 6'4".  ::)

It all started in 93 when they announced Dorians weight onstage,so then the other guys had to say they weighed 250-260 to make it sound like they were as big. Then you`re "supposed" to gain 8-10 pounds a year,or you`re not training hard year round,so they all added an extra 10 pounds each year to their weight.

I AGREE!! oddly enough, i was just thinking about this topic this morning. once you have all your fat gone and youve dried out, your weight is way down. i dont believe that ronnie was ever 300 in dry ,ripped condition onstage. he may have weighed in at 300, then dried out. this would make him about 285 onstage and thats being generous.

Ronnie is the last I'd believe. In 2004 it was ridicolous, he said he was 297, and Ruhl said he was 280; When they stood next to each other Ruhl looked 40 pounds heavier than Coleman ::)

i might believe Quincy because he's like 6'3"-6'4", the other guy i'd beleive was 300 was Ferrigno in 92, because he was 6'5".

Bullshit, in 2004 Ruhl looked like a schoolboy next to Ron. Hell, even Gunter was looking small next to him.

At the Ironman Pro's press conference, the pros get on a scale. Most of the weights that the pros say are within 5-10 pounds of what they think they will be.  Whereas they may inflate it somewhat, during contest time, they were generally correct as to what they were saying.

yeah i remember that one, isn't that the one where they all wore three MaxMuscle sweatshirts, 2 pairs of sweatpants and big Otomix shoes on the scale?

It's true.. It's almost as bad as people posting pics of themselves completely coverd up..Everyone bullshits.. I remember some fat guy talking about multiple ownings..When.. There's no way he works out.?

There's nothing wrong with that..So long as the person knows he's not fooling anyone.. It's all in fun! Right?

It did NOT start in 1993. Lee Haney was weighing in his 250's in the mid-late '80's.
