Isn't is obvious Boxing is a corrupt sport that is on the decline. The best guys never get a title shot and 99% of fights are complete snoozefests. MMA is on the upswing, you get to see top ranked fighters fight every other month and the money gets better every year.
Besides, we all know what combat sports is all about...finding out who can kick whose ass. MMA is the closest we have to real street fighting.
Hope that helps.
Bullshit. It's painfully obvious to me that the real reason these MMA guys never pursue a career in pro boxing is NOT because of corruption and politics.
It's because they know in the back of their minds that they're simply not good enough to compete on that level.
Everyone knows that the average pro MMA guy can more than likely kick a pro boxer's ass with MMA rules. So fucking what? The two sports are entirely different in terms of rules, style, and oh yeah....MONEY.
If I had a dime for every jerkoff that says a MMA fighter can kick the shit out of a world class boxer, I'd be rich. In the boxer's world where their rules apply, an MMA fighter would get his ass handed to him against a world class pro. Vice versa, a boxer would get dominated in an MMA style matchup.
MMA may be on the rise as far as popularity goes, but pro boxing will ALWAYS be here to stay. It's not going anywhere. The paychecks the top level guys get PROVE THAT. The money has to come from somewhere whether it be admission gates or PPV numbers.
I enjoy both sports and I don't waste my time imagining the two crossing over with one another and dreaming up head-to-head scenarios which would never take place.
Hope THIS helps.
