Etiquette Dilemma- WWYD?
« on: October 15, 2007, 08:36:16 AM »
So, I'm heading into a Pax this morning to order breakfast and this group of three midwestern moo-cows sidles up at the same time. In any other circumstance, holding the door for a coven of overweight harridans is no big deal, but at a fast food place- while you are heading in to work- it becomes an issue. First in the store, first in line to order. That being the case,  should chivalry take a backseat to practicality in situations like this?  (Suffice it to say, those bitches had to put on a goddamned 10 minute show to place their order.)

LOL this question is making me chuckle.

Honestly, I'd hold the door but politely ask them if I could order first. I'd say I was late for work.

Hold the door for the first one, but stand in her way until she takes the door, then let go and get your ass in line. You've been half chivalrous.

you go through first, and hold the door so it doesn't slam in the first one's face. good enough.
