Creatine mixed with Glutamine OK???
« on: October 02, 2007, 09:35:18 PM »
Sup guys, i just finished my Diet for the MrGetBig and am looking to get back onto some Creatine. My normal postworkout shake consists of Protein Powder/Dextrose/Glutamine, but is it a good idea or even detrimental to mix in some Creatine with that?  Oh I imagine i should also take some Creatine 30min or so before I workout with some Detrose 20 min after that?!  How does this sound to people or any other advice???

Any tips on how to add this stuff into your eating shedual?

Oh and Princess L I know you hate the Creatine topic but I did try and find some answers and nothing really gave me what I wanted ;D

Studdies have shown that the combination of glutamine and creatine will combine in your stomach and create an explosion so powerful that it is only rivaled by c4..

yeah of course you can take em together. I do it all the time.  you can mix anything really, only reason you might not be able to mix somethin is if it tasted too rank for ya

lol ;D

Yeah I just thought that I read somewhere that you shouldn't mix them or something as they can counteract each other trying to get into the muscle or something, it was something like that anyway.

Oh i didn't know that, if thats true I guess it shouldn't be a problem.

It just seems easier if I can add some extra to a post w/o shake (as well a pre w/o drink)instead of having to have it in a separate drink later on as well.

Cheers guys 8)

Oh yes I just started it back up again, I haven't used it for about 8 years id say and back then it was "just have it with juice" and there wasn't even glutamine around I don't think. People always say that you make the best gains after dieting so I'm going to pull out the stops for the next couple of months and see how I go 8)

Cheers again all :)

One such product is Crea-Glu Tech by BodyTech (the bodybuilding supplement line from Vitamin Shoppe). A serving has 6 grams of creatine, 2 grams of glutamine, and 2 grams of taurine.

It normally runs for $20; but, I got it for $10, due to a "buy one; get one 50% off" sale on all Vitamin Shoppe-brand items.

that's not enough glutamine.

should be taking at least 5 to 10 grams at a time...  2 to 3 times a day.

Yeah I'm aiming to up my glutamine a bit, i normaly only take about 10g after training but I think I'll up it by adding some later in the day as well.

I heard always take them separately because creatine and glutamine fight for water.

I use Crea-Glu Tech with Liquid amino acids (and some Gatorade) to make up my drink, which I consume during my workouts. The aminos add the about 3 grams of glutamine. So, I'm covered there. Postworkout, I currently have some GNC Mega Whey, which I got on sale for $28. It has 5 grams of glutamine in it. I take that with Six Star Creatine (powder).

It makes a huge difference, over the years besides protein powders glutamine has sold more consistently than any product I have seen. It easily outsells creatine.

Yeah I feel it has been helping me, if i miss it in a shake because of work or something i kind of feel a bit weird, prob just a mental thing though ;D, but I won't stop using it any time soon. Back to the original topic though and I have been adding the Creatine in after my workouts mixed with Glutamine and it seems fine to me 8).
