That was 10 years ago when fighters were one dimensional. Nowadays the top guys know everything there is to know about fighting (kickboxing, grappling, wrestling). A good example is Kevin Randleman. He has only gotten better as the years have gone by, but he's still 1 dimensional and hasn't had success in modern MMA except a fluke KO over Cro Cop.

No nowadays these guys don't know everything about fighting. They all know the same basics. Alil boxing, some take downs, and a few submissions. The only reason it seems so dominate is because thats all anybody knows. These guys go to training camps for a year and there pro's. Forget about spending years learning an art from top to bottom. Now its just learn how to throw a roundhouse or slap on a knee bar get your tap out shirt and your ready to go. I'm not bashing the sport I a big fan but the style has evolved the way it has to make a more marketable product. Nobody liked watching guys lay on the floor for 25 mins so they changed the rules to make it more watchable.
