It's very high in anti-oxidants, good stuff. Gives me bad gas though, thus I do not drink it very often.

You're not supposed to drink the stuff like a glass of water. 1-3 ounces daily will do the trick so the 3-4 dollars a bottle for the POM brand juice really isnt that bad if your not chugging it.

I haven't figured out how to eat a pomegranate  :-\

Cut it in half, the over a lar ge bowl us a big spoon and tap the back of the cut pom.  All of the little juicy seeds will fall right out into the bowl.  Grab those suckers, eat and spit, repeat.

I got an instruction book with one once and it does work!:

First, cut off the flowery end of the pomegranate. Then, score the pomegranate into sections and place it in a bowl of water for about 5 minutes. After this, break the sections of the pomegranate open while its still in the water. This will allow the kernels (the stuff you eat), to separate from the rind and sink to the bottom. After this, all you have to do is discard the rind and drain the kernels out of the water.

the thing with pomegranate juice is you have to research and buy the right one. what i mean is that nearly all of the p.juice you see at your grocery store is OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH IN SUGAR! nearly 40 grams of the stuff, almost like drinking a can of soda! granted it's fruit sugar and not the same as the sugar content of a can of soda, but still sugar is sugar so be careful!!

your best bet is to go to a whole foods, trader joe's, wild oats, etcetera and look for your p.juice there, they have brands where the sugar content is below 20 grams.

also like someone mentioned all p.juice is pricey a bottle, but your only supposed to drink 1 to 3 ounces a day if it's too sweet then add 6 ounces of water or so to it.
