st.pierre steps in for serra to take on hughes

I still say serra's nothing more than a B level fighter that had a lucky night....

if gsp and serra fought 10 times I'd say george would beat the guy 9 out of 10 times !

I agree but Serra and hughs would of been a better fight, cause gsp is gonna destroy hughs.

I'm by no means a matt hughes fan,but he seriously did'nt look like himself that night GSP smoked him....

I have no problem paying for this PPV to see if george's game has really improved that much.

man this is no good for hughes. if he wins so what hes beat gsp before..if he loses where does he go because gsp would get a shot at the belt

that's the way I see it,he can't possibly look any worse than he did when he lost that title !

I guess we'll just have to see if matt's gonna be able to rebound mentally !

Yeah he needs to take it to the ground and get it up against the cage.. I just don't want to see another GSP spinning back kick...

As I think about it, this is the best thing that could have happened for all three:

Serra: Had he fought Hughes & won, he would have had GSP next.  Now he only has to fight one.

Hughes: He now has an opportunity to redeem himself against the humiliating defeat and cement himself as perhaps the most dominant fighter ever (calm down Fedor nut huggers). 

GSP: He now has a chance to accelerate regaining hi title and then avenge a loss to Serra. 

I hope GSP is ready for this.

Serra-Hughes had more drama, but would probably be a ground-borefest.

GSP-Hughes will surely be a better fight. Hughes has to get GSP down to win but he's gotta throw some punches to get GSP to open up. Should be a good one.
