Denver game...
« on: December 09, 2007, 02:24:45 PM »
I'm so sick of guys getting penalized for celebrating ::) Who gives a shit... I just don't get it, it makes the game fun.  I don't see what it hurts... They just called Marshall for unsportsman like conduct for tossing snow in the air after a touch down ::) even the announcers said, "oh come on  ::)"

You have to draw the line somewhere. Seriously I don't know what color you are and I don't care but from what I have seen white spectators hate that shit and black people don't mind it. Personally I think it's tasteless and there is no room for it in Professional sports. If Barry Sanders didn't have to do it, then todays players don't have to do it either. Didn't mean to make it racial at all, just an observation.

Isn't that a little extreme "tasteless" Oh brother... "no room for it in professional sports" Yea, it really degrades the professional atmosphere I'm after while we're all sitting around with beer, yelling and screaming, getting all roughty with a good game...   ::)

It really is though. Look at Barry Sanders, he would score a touchdown and give the balls back to the ref. Then you have some idiots who celebrate every time they make a routine tackle. Hey if you like these guys jumping around like a bunch of idiots, cool. I will take class every day of the week.

yea, it's football... I don't mind a little personality in the game.  The typical viewer gets all crazy into it, why not.  I understand not going overboard and delaying things but a moment of reaching down and picking up snow and tossing it to a roaring crowd, big feaking deal.  A quick little dance and flip or whatever, big freaking deal...  I just wouldn't call a momentary celebration "jumping around like a bunch of idiots" That's silly...

Small celebrations are ok, but when all the receivers started acting like idiots a few years ago it got out of hand. I mean come on, do you really want to see the sharpie and cell phone shit? The "boat" dance mocking the Vikings was kind of funny, though. Personally, I just want to watch them go out there and do what they get paid for. I think celebrations are dumb.

no, large blown out celebrations I'm not for, it's a delay.  Little ones I like... Just a quick like thing, no biggie to me.  A little dance, flip, whatever, no proplem. I think it's really easy to tell the difference between to much and a quick little moment of celebration.  On this one, even the announcers unanimously thought it was a silly penalty.

You are probably right about this one. I just had enough of this shit in general a few years back when the celebrations would literally be front and center topics in the sports pages, ahead of the stats and scores.

LOL, I think this is one of those cases where we actually agree and argued for nothing :D  I'm with you, don't like those epic displays.

But I did like it when the Broncos would do their salute which is now out...  That wasn't really a big thing to me.
