She's 5'8" and started out in Jan., 117lbs. today she's 153lbs. she made some amazing progress in 11 months. I thought it would be nice to hear from some ofr the Getbig people about what they think.

I have seen this post go unanswered for a few days so I thought I would explain to you a bit why.  Looking good in a bikini, ie: for modeling is very different than having the look for figure.  If you would have posted pics from a show, most likely you would have gotten several posts of how she looks and what areas to work on. There is no question your fiance is hot.  Does she have what it takes to be a figure competitor, that is really what you are asking us here, and we have no idea. That is up to her. If she is willing to put in the effort whatever it takes, then the answer is yes.  Mostly can she endure the dieting. If she gets proper coaching, gets in posing classess and chooses suits and cuts wisely I can see her standing on stage doing very well. Make sure she is on a good "path" with some guidance and gives herself enough time to prep for a show. She is smoking hot and obviously loves to pose for the camera, that is a bonus too.  Best wishes to your fiance, you can also have her email me if she has questions about competing, I can steer her in the right direction.

Thank you Nancy,

Gabby has never been on stage but it totally into getting there. We've never posted photos of ourselves online before so thanks for the info. I posted those photos only to show how much she's gained, there was another photo a "Before shot" I couldn't get up for whatever reason..

Like I said she's really into training and competing, I've been coaching her to this point and will continue but she really needs the guidance of a women like yourself as well.

Thank you very much for your advice,

Brian & Gabby

She's gorgeous, and Nancy is right.  It's hard to tell from those pics, as they are not really the kind of pics where you can evaluate potential in a figure competition.  But she looks like she has put on some muscle and could lean out a little and look great for figure.

She should definitely hire and consult with someone with experience in figure competition (one person only) for diet, posing, and suit advice.  If she has a specific show in mind, she should start working with someone at least 12 weeks prior, if not sooner than that.

 :)

We are intenting on bringing someone in to consult and advise, I've never competed myself but have been training for several years. actually the only contest I ever did was the "Body for Life" contest in 2000 and did very well.

This is all together very different and I'd like to find the best help I can for her. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you so much, feel free to share any input...... I wish I had different photos but Gabby's never been on stage. This week she's going to switch up her dieting alittle, more protein a little less carbs. and more cardio. we'll be looking for a local show in March and then possibly a National Qualifier in April what do you suggest?

You are a lucky man!

She will look incredible onstage.  Not sure if she's ready for Figure, but competing will let her know her weak areas pretty qucily for next time.

It depends on where you live, but alot of local/regional NPC shows ARE National Qualifiers.  I would start at the local/regional level.

It's really, really important when contest prepping to put your faith into ONE person with contest experience and listen to ONLY that person when it comes to your diet and prep.  Otherwise, you will get yourself all screwed up, even if you think you know what you are doing.
For figure competition, it's critical to work with someone who is experienced with posing, suit selection, and presentation since these are such important elements of the competition.

I judge at the local/regional level, and two things that always make a HUGE difference for me are (1) how a competitor poses and presents herself and (2) how a competitor looks from the backside (the backside is the tell-tale indicator of conditioning on women IMO).

If you are shooting for her competing in March/April, then you should try to find someone to start working with by early January.   :)

Great post Ripit. Compete on the local level first and the non-national qualifiers can be just as good. Lonnie Teper puts on a great show in June - The Junior Cal, which isn't a national qualifier but lots of exposure.

You/her might want to sign up at Bodyspace, it's a great community for all levels of people.

I am a very lucky man, Gabby is a very beautiful and determined women. I'm very proud to be her fiance and training partner. I'd like to thank all of you for your advise and compliments. We've found someone to work with Gabby we both feel very comfortable with her. As of now Gabby will be competing in two shows I felt the local regional level would be best for her to start, but her new coach feels strongly that NQ will be best. So we're shooting for April 12th then June 7th.

I better find myself a coach now, or my lady will be leaving me in the dust!!!! ;)

We're going to take some posing shots later tonight........

I'm Interested, Who is The Coach You Found? A Lot of "Idiots" Claim to be Figure and Fitness Coaches. I hope you Realize, You Just had Nancy Georges, "I.F.B.B. Figure Pro", Just Give you Free Advice. She gives Clinics and Seminars on Figure and Fitness, and has been in the Sport for over 10 yrs. I Would have gone to Nancy as a Coach!!!!! Always Start at the Top.

The coach we've found is Nancy Georges I wouldn't want Gabby or myself to work with anyone other than a Pro, Nancy is clearly one of the best out there.

After Gabby gets acclimated with Nancy I'll be looking for my own coach. I've been training and dieting for a long time but have realized I won't get where I want and need without the help of a Pro. Are you a Pro? and if so maybe we could talk about myself.

Thanks for your interest hopefully after the gym tonight I'm going to take a back and front shot of Gabby and post them..

Peace B & G

Hey Brian, Gabby is a sweetheart and I am excited to work with her. And you have a huge heart and what an inspiration you must be to her. I am very excited to see what she has got mentally and physically.  And David love you! (down boy) David trains pros, he has worked with Alexis Ellis pro figure competitor and he has kicked my ass many times in the gym on legs and track training, if you need great legs, awesome meals or no bs, David is your Man.  Brian, David is a lot like you, you two would get along great. (or bump heads) and that is a good thing.  David will never sugar coat anything. Not sure exactly what you are looking for in the way of coaching, but give him a shout and see if there is a match.

This is AMAZING!!!!!!!!

I have to tell all of you, Fitness has been my life sense I was about 21 yrs. old having Gabriela in my life now seeing how excited she is totally makes me crazy, it also helps being ADHD.........lol

Nancy we're very excited to have met you and I believe everything is for a reason.. Ripitupbaby you seem like a very awesome person thanks for your compliments and encouragement.

Nancy I guess David is the Fit Gourmet?..... I feel very comfortable with your advise so if David would like to work with me I'm totally into it.

I have to get my left forearm straightened out, I am experiencing a tremendous amount of pain and am having lots of trouble with my training so I'm going to see a Orthopedic Surgeon this week.

I would like to get to know Dave though ASAP!!!...

Your girl is sweet, very sweet.

Let your girl stay natural, don't listen to those prep gurus who'll tell you that "weak" stuff will have no side effects.
