How to lose muscle mass?

I'm trying to lose lean tissue and lower my metabolism , to give body a rest. And then to start over in rebuilding a new physique.
I have weight trained most days for over 10 years natural prior to this.

First thing I did was stop weight training and I started very intense biking and running every day this has gone on for a year now.

Second I switched over to a low protein vegetarian diet, now vegan diet, with well under 100g of protein and fat a day

I have done this for about 3-4 months with very little result, the only difference is that I got down to an extremely low body fat. This was not my main goal,  I was already very low.

Third, I now embarked on lower calories and less/no cardio.
What are my other options? Will protein fat based diet waste more tissue than a diet that has carbs in it?

What about no carbs, only fat protein + high cardio?

lift weights every day...full body...get zero protein..if any, make it soy protein. et zero saturated fats. base your carbs around fruits and grains.  do high intensity cardio for 30 minutes first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and right after your daily full body workouts.

Buddy you would probably gain a little muscle on a high fat moderate protein diet.  I would say more carbs and drop your protein drasticlly.

ernie taylor once felt guilty for overtraining his arms and didnt train them for a month. and they grew 1/4".  true story, read it in FLEX.

Excessive cardio with higher repetition weight lifting, increase liquid meals while dropping whole food meals and try and eat no more than 2 times per day.

why would anyone want to lose quality muscle unless they were a fighter that has zero % bodyfat but is too heavy for their weight division........

I did the excessive cardio thing. I think I maxed out my capabilities, it was 3 hour walk then 60 minutes biking then 45 minutes of running. every day for 3 months, then I felt I needed to change something, my calories were out of bounds and my bf was getting to low. I think it can be stressful to the body have such high metabolism.

Thank for the tip. I don't want to do it to drastically though. Some food is still needed to protect vital organs, like brain, liver heart.

Valid option that needs consideration. With a healthy lifestyle and disciplines these drugs can be usefully implemented, but I feel they should not be needed.
Doing the amount of cardio I was, sleeping was not adequate, but on the same token, you get by less sleep when doing cardio.

Terminal diseases are unnecessary in acquiring as there is always the natural and unavoidable aging (life cycle) anyway.
