This could include anything from the promoters treating you with respect and dignity and actulally being glad you participated; fruit and water backstage; adequate and spaceous pump-up facilities replete with mirrors, benches, weights and towels, giving you time to pose; correcting the situation if you or your music malfunctions; promounces your name CORRECTLY to the audience; handing out lutrous (or, at least, adequate awards), etc.
Yes, yes, I know my bias is towards Mike Katz. No need to remind me of that.
However, in the 60 shows I have entered, he more than fulfills, with honor and humility , all of the above, and then some. I am sure some of you who have been in his shows agree.
I won the 1995 ANPPC CT show. When I went to lift my trophy, the little bb guy at the top 'snapped' off the rest of the trophy.
I was more embarrassed for the promoters than for me.
