yes, as opposed to no.

but i believe that you want the insulin spike to occur when the protein is already in the blood stream...and since whey takes about 20 mins to absorb and waxy starts absorbing almost immedietly; i would think that you would want to drink the whey, wait 20 mins, then drink the waxy.

From what I've read the elevated levels of insulin will go on for 40-60 minutes so it's not necessary to have the protein in the blood right that second.

insulin spikes are over rated and really not as important as people think they are.

Don't mix the two, i would drink the vitargo first and then wait about 15-20 min. until i had the whey.

This is an honest question, if this is indeed true, why do people use insulin in bodybuilding then?

exogenous insulin is different as it doesnt have to deal with other hormonal controls in the body, but sugar and insulin spikes while helpful are only equally important as receptor sensitivity and insulin resistence in general, as well after training the body is in an optimal state for uptake regardless of sugar consumption. i would still use glucose pwo but probably augment it with BCAA's and some Alpha lipoic acid to reduce sugar calories and increase uptake in general.

I had a feeling it had to do with that but didn't quite have all the pieces to the puzzle =)  So it's pretty pointless to spike your natural insulin for general nutrient uptake such as protein consumption, or is it really only slightly important PWO with what you suggest?

Well, I usually mix my creatine, vitargo together and take my BCAA's. If i take a protein shake with it, I get extremely bloated and it feels uncomfortable. I usually wait 20 minutes to take the protein shake.

id still add some carbs but i would use BCAA's along with it. if your using milk thats find as it has both high GI and BCAA's to add to the way. you could add ALA if you want, i like the supp and feel fuller when taking it and its one of the best antioxidants known as it is both lipophilic and hydrophilic which is somewhat unique. things like vit c are only good for water soluble anti oxidants while anti oxidants occuring in adipose tissue, lipoproteins , glycolipids etc are untouched. so its good to have fat and water soluble anti oxs. increasing insulin sensitivity through training and ala etc.. is good for body comp on both levels, and with lessening the sugar your doing the body a favor, and probably your comp.
