Avesher, or anyone else who plays poker online
« on: January 24, 2008, 12:36:15 PM »
I have been looking for a new site and they are scare as far as US access goes. I found this one, Pokerstars, and it looks like they accept bank transfers in the US. I think it takes 10 days to get your check approved, but you can play immediately. How good is this site? Where do you guys play? How long does it take for them to pay you and is it put directly into your bank account? Thanks.

Party poker used to be good, took about 3 days to cashout into my account. How long is this one? About 10 days?

Pokerstars is the safest site to play on with the best customer service.  On the flip side however, imo, it is also the hardest and has the toughest players.  It also depends on if you are a cash game player or a tournament player.  If you are depositing like 100 or 200 bucks, here is what I would do.  The $4.40 180 man sit an go's on stars are probably your best bet for softness.  People play pretty loose on those, especially in the early blind levels. If you are playing cash games, just play abc poker, sit on top 10 hands and try and get paid off with them.

I have been playing on Mansion lately, very soft tournaments.

I think I will give Pokerstars a shot. I haven't played online in a while, since they made the new laws. I usually only play cash games, although I do like the sit and gos.

If I do play cash, I find the .25/.50 NL to be the softest.  The buy in is low and the return can be huge.  And you can always "take a shot" as its called.  Take your whole deposit, lets say 300 dollars as example, and go sit at a 3/6 Nl table, sit on the nut hand, and get paid off.  All depends if you are a grinder or a gambler.

I used to play at the casinos all the time, way before it was fashionable. Back then I could play 7 card stud. Now because of the poker boom it's all Hold 'Em at the casinos. When I play online I play Stud 80% of the time, and sometimes get in an Omaha or Hold 'em game for fun. But I am a much stronger Stud player. I usually look for a 3/6 or 5/10 game(four screens at a time), I find that anything higher than that and you get too many good players at one table. My downfall with Party Poker was Blackjack, I would grind out a few hundred bucks and lose it right back playing blackjack. ;D
