Is Jardine being overlooked?
« on: February 07, 2008, 11:22:03 AM »
He beat Griffin, Chuck and although not "officially," Bonnar. He did get caught by Alexander, but he came off that loss with a win against Chuck. Assuming Forrest had not beat Shogun, would Jardine be coaching TUF and getting the title shot? I am not sure Shogun would get a coaching spot, maybe he would though as if he had beaten Griffin he would be a good choice for a title shot imo. Anyway, the way I see it is that the loss to Alexander hurt Jardine much worse than Forrests' loss to Jardine has. Maybe it's because he isn't as likable as Forrest. Does anyone know when Jardine fights again and do you guys think he deserves the winner of Rampage-Griffin? I was kind of hoping for Chuck-Jardine 2 on the same card as Page and Forrest with the winner getting the shot, but it looks like Chuck is fighting Shogun now.

question is if chuck wins over shogun they would have him fight winner of rampage and forrest

or if jardine fight whoever, they would have chuck fight the winner of that fight, and then have the winner of that fight for the title

(if that make sense)  ;D

Jardine's win over Chuck is an unfortunate inconvenience to the master plan of the UFC...it's being swept under the rug and forgotten about.

In all seriousness, they should put Jardine in with Houston to give him a chance to redeem himself...

that would make sense then put that winner up against the winner of shogun vs chuck
so possibly...
chuck vs houston
chuck vs jardine
shogun vs jardine
shogun vs alexander

winner gets the winner of forest vs rampage...does that make sense, i don't think houston would deserve a title shot but the other 3 scenarios would make sense

"A Houston Alexander (8-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) vs. James Irvin (13-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) fight originally expected to take place at a March 8 event in England has instead been added to the UFC Fight Night 13 televised card;"

Griffin is probably the most "fan favored" product of all of the TUF series' to date, and Jardine's loss to Houstion definately cost him that spot, but i'm sure the UFC prefered Forrest/Rampage over Jardine/Rampage because of the two guys personalities and the interest that would be genrated in that fight (and the show) over the course of the season.  I can go out on a limb and say this will probably be the funniest season yet.  As for Jardine, I read a Wandy interview recently and he said that one of his potential opponents for UFC 84 was Jardine, he said there were other fights proposed but that was the only name he dropped.

well think about it from a marketing point of view cause thats all they are doing, feed chuck some fighters, place rampage against someone whos style will beat him, chuck fights the winner....... all this time jardines going stale. then its time

Chuck vs Jardine 2 .....Payback

He's not getting much credit for that win on chuck.
Fair/unfair? You could defend both sides.

205 is stacked, so he'll probably get a good oppent next time. (Thiago Silva, Wand. Silva, R. Evans, ...)

Which fights are on the rails now:
Rampage - Griffin
Chuck - Shogun

Jardine is being overlooked bc he isn't that special IMO.  Yes he beat Chuck, but come on guys...he's not like some awesome fighter.  And neither is Alexander.  We all saw him exposed.

The real fight i'd like to see if chuck/griffin.

Now there is a fight.

that would be fun to see if forest could take a beating round after round but somehow in the end pull off a crazy submission, seems like he is the underdog in every fight but finds a way to hang in there, i still can't believe they gave the decision to tito over him

With the way things are now, Griffin would prob get that call...
