The wheels are falling off of McCain's "straight talk express", so get onboard Obama's message of inspiration...or get the fuck out of the way.  :D

LOL!

At some point I may start to feel sorry for Hillary...but not right now!  :D She felt like she was entitled to be president and I'm afraid if she loses, she is going to need a lot of anti-depressents if she has to go back to just being senator from New York.  ;D

I agree the guy can pump up the average robot but universal truth is not measured by mass appeal and a fluffy speech, but it does come around sooner or later, lets not make it later.

Don't cry Bindare. :'( Maybe if Ron Paul puts up a good fight he might have a chance to hold on to his Congressional seat in TX.  :-\

Obama is a brilliant orator, and it sounds as though grampa McCain and Billary are a bit envious. They'll be hearing a lot more of these great speeches when he's giving State of the Union Addresses as president and they are sitting in the audience.  ;D

All the power to him. If he wins he'll have a platefull of shit to deal with. Hope all that spending he promised for certain programs he'd implament is possible. I think he's no different then the rest of em, other than the fact that he can talk about nothing very well. If he gets elected we'll see how he handles it and he can prove all the doubters wrong.

Both Ronnie Reagan and JFK were rhetoricans and not much else.

But both are for some reason considered among the better presidents in US recent history.

Reagan supporting terrorism eg.

What's behind it is to get a non-Washington guy into the White House.

He's a Washington guy....he might brief like he's not but he's a lib with a shallow record. Guys like Kuchinich or Ron Paul, regardless of their beliefs wouyld do more to change things. i disagree with both, massively but Obama will be a typical lib...or worse. His economic plan is anti-business and could be dangerous. Hil would do far less damage..we'd get 4-8 years of a Bill like admin..not really that bad. Bush's mistakes need to be fixed, no doubt but Obama is a dangerous knee jerk reaction to him.

He's going to reduce combat troops and end lots of those corporate tax breaks.  He's explained all of this.

and while i agree he has minimal experience, he has a hell of a brain, and is an excellent leader - he's gone from a nobody to the most exciting person (on the planet?) in about a year.  He has power and charisma.   You know he has a brain too- he was president of harvard law review - so he has a great natural cognitive ability.

leadership, brains, and what's the other thing... ah yes, decision making ability.  Obama was against the war - so it seems like he can make the RIGHT choice, not the popular one.

His plan on Iraq won't work and won't and can't be executed like he wants...we either pack our shit or we stay..there are no half measures. U don't wina war by bunkering down...thats what his plan amounts to. Bush had a brain as welll u might not agree since he can't speak..but he's a smart guy. Obama can speak well...I'm not sure he's a great leader he's never led anything.

In making the race about ideas and contrasting center/right, bedrock Americanism against Obama’s ultra-liberalism more in step with Europe than Mainstreet, USA, McCain would not only give himself his best shot of beating Obama, but also do a service to the nation by laying out clearly just what the issues of 2008 are. For Obama, the key to victory in 2008 (should he beat Hillary - and that isn’t a done deal yet at all) is to cloud the issues and keep the debate to airy platitudes about hope and change. In other words for Obama - like all liberals running a national campaign - the key to victory will revolve around how successful Obama is at hiding just what he believes from the American people. It is McCain’s job to force Obama to declare himself.

There is no need to get down and dirty with Obama - we only need describe his record (which is very thin, but which is also extraordinarily liberal - like it makes McGovern seem conservative by comparison) and lay out just what sort of America we’ll have if Obama’s liberalism triumphs: an America of high taxes, high spending, out-of-control government, military weakness, social decline and America subordinate to UN and EU apparatchiks. Obama still might win even if exposed as the ultra-liberal he is - its clear that he has become a political phenomena not often seen, and which is not entirely subject to normal political realities - but the fight is still worth having, and even if we lose we’ll have laid down the marker against which Obama and the Democrats will be judged in 2010 and 2012.

As for me, I look forward to this fight - I love a battle of ideas; the sharp contrast between liberal and consevative is where I love to be debating, all the time and everywhere. And, of course, if Hillary does win the nomination, then such a battle will work even better against her. So, lets have at it with gusto and with confidence that the fact that we are right will make all the might we need.

Cut from a Blog on the 08 election.

Obama could do what Reagan did while he was running up the debt back in the 1980s...borrow and spend.

Reagan's "accomplishments" included running up a ridiculous debt it took two administrations to pay off, an Iran-Contra scandal, raising (yes raising!) taxes, and basically being a senile, drooling old fool the last couple of years in office. Not to mention that his "trickle-down economics" was a joke and his war on drugs a farce. Other than that...hey the senile old dude wasn't too bad!  ::)

Obama's got the youthful energy, the ideas, and the likeability to get things done. He will inspire the nation and get Republicans and Democrats to cross the aisle and work together to make changes in Washington. He'll also get us out of Iraq!

Fuck the hatas! America under an Obama administration...love it or leave it, baby.

Reagan got USA in a bad ass debt.

You forgot about that?  ???

The good financial years during the 90's paid off a huge debt.

That debt wasn't there for no reason.

Reagan cut taxes without financing them.

Fiscally responsible?

 ::)

I'm not saying I'm impressed by Obama, far from it.

But using Reagan as some kind of example of a president who "got things done"?
