Since I don't live in the Uk, I can't answer that, but to give you some perspective from the US, here is a black man, Jerome Washington Jackson Simpson the third giving his opinion on the cultural anomaly of white kids assuming the role of their counterparts.

As long as the lower orders/chavs keep on doing what they're (supposedly) good at, e.g. building things, driving heavy vehicles, plumbing etc, then everything should be ok.

It used to be shell suits, then it was Hackett/Nickelson gear, and now its all the sports stuff...poor people never have known how not to look terrible.

To answer your question though, no i dont think its a serious problem as its limited to people with low intelligence.
