Biggest climb in Bodybuilding
« on: January 12, 2006, 08:15:18 AM »
I was just looking through the result lists of Mr Olympia the last few years and Gustavo Badell was 24th (!) in 2002 and 3rd (!!) in 2004! (and repeating it in 2005) Now that's a big step up!

There's been a couple of other big climbers, it's pretty amazing how much they can improve in a couple of years... Jay Cutler was 14th back in '99... got 8th the year after in 2000, then BOOM in 2001 2nd place!
Gunters been climbing a little as well, although he hasn't skyrocket... 12th in 2000, stepping back a little to 15th place in 2001 but since then - 5th 2002, 5th 2003, 6th 2004 and finally highest placing so far, 4th in 2005!

I gree that preety impresive, also if you look at the amount of comptettions gustavo has entered is also up there, I would thing that compeeting so many times would take a toll on the body?

are you saying that Ronnie's climb was not impressive?

Recall that no one has ever gone from that far down to first the next year.

yates went from second to first.
Haney went from third to first.

I suppose you are saying that Ronnie does not deserve to be mentioned in this thread ::)

as much as you hate Ronnie, there are certan topics that are simply not complete without including his name.

And this is one of them.

If you are so sick of Ronnie, why are you coming to a bodybuilding forum?? ::)

that's what you gotta love about big ron. Man never bitched one day in his life about the judging yet you got little turds like Shawn Ray making all kinds of fuss about the judging. Ron just got his ass in gear and plowed through. And if you have seen video from the 96 and 97O Coleman really did get screwed.

In '92 Ronnie finished like 17th or worse in the Olympia. It's amazing how far he's come and how long his reign has lasted!

what's the insulin for?      I used to train at at Victor's Gym back in NYC. I used to see him work out and talk to him sometimes. Cormier used to be there too sometimes but I didn't know who Cormier was at that time. I was amazed at how he got 9th in the olympia and then 5th. To me he just acted like a regular guy and I had seen him eating spanish restaurant food many times. I tell some people that I used to go to his gym and they're like "really?" all shocked.
