those lifts seem pretty low for him, i thought he was wayyyy stronger than that, still fuccking awesome lifts, high 500's bench, 700 squat, mid 700's deadlift.

Yeh, he had a target of 1100kg raw. But, bear in mind that's only his first PLing comp. He really needs to improve his deadlift, his belly gets in the way, but then that's what makes his squat and bench so good I guess

actually his squat is the worst of all, a 400 pound guy like him should be squatting way more than 700.

Yeh, I guess. Do you think someone's squat should be bigger than their dead?

in his case it should, like you said the belly and the thick stubby hands are hinderances in the deadlift but his squat should be astronomical given his mass, he's a HUGE man, 5'11"-6'0" and right around 400 pounds with giant legs so i would expect AT LEAST a 900 pound squat out of him, my guess is that he was unfamiliar with the depth rules and once he gets used to them he'll smoke 900 plus.

Good point. I left another comment there a little late. He's 440lb. Which is fucking nuts
he has the thickest most massive shoulders i've ever seen on a human being, he presses 400 pound strongman logs overhead with no leg drive like they're sticks, i think he's officially done in the mid 400's.

i don't think that's on his mind right now being relatively young but you're right dropping weight is a must for him if he wants to see his 40's and 50's, he would still be brutally strong at 300 pounds instead of 440.

Watch him with the Circus DB. Its like its not even there. Maybe thats how it is when you have all that fat holding your upper arm paralell to the ground all day? His ROM is tiny because of all that bulk.

Strong as fvck for sure tho!

it has nothing to do with his "ROM" or "fat", strong is strong, you can lift the weight or you can't and he is a MASSIVELY STRONG man.

Not saying he isnt strong but if you started an OHP with a 2 liter under each arm then you would have a shorter range of motion, right? Its like doing board presses only overhead and with fat instead of boards! ;D

I think I posted this link before, but hell, here it is again:

http://www.irishstrongman.com/aboutus/profile.asp

Says he's 6'0, but he looks shorter than me in the pic and I'm only about 6. Says he has:

400kg Squat (no suit)
400kg Deadlift (no suit)
295kg Bench
195kg Shoulder Press (standing)

If he can get those three lifts to comp standard the 1100kg could be on

and i fully believe every one of those lifts, i do believe they're "gym lifts" though and a competition lift is a whole different ballgame, i fully believe he could total 2300-2400 raw with some time and experience.

he is a strong man not a power lifter.
