He shouldn't have done it, but like he said, he wanted to isolate those committing the crimes.  If a White judge had been on the stand and wanted to isolate those committing the crimes, he two would have to remove the whites.

More hypocrisy

Hypocrisy might be a bit strong but he definitely used poor judgement or the wrong forum to give a pep-talk. That pep talk should have been done prior to their arrest.

I think If a white judge did the same thing the same way folk would have played the racists card (If he was talking to a group blacks males) But if the wht judge was talking to a group of wht males I agree to speculate that the scenario would have received harsh criticism.
