Arnold had laser-like intensity, no one comes close.

I love the scene in Pumping Iron where he gets fucking PISSED when the sluts start laughing when he's doing the donkey raises  "Enough with this fucking bullshit!!!"

Dorian Yates trained more intensely than Coleman.

Just look at how Dorian tore himself apart, at such
a young age.  As far as Arnold, he did HIGH -Volume,
but nowhere near the intensity of Yates.

In fact, Yates trained "Too-Intense".  He has said this himself.

All you have to do is look at the injuries.

It's a very very close call.

Dorian trained brutally hard but only over short bursts. Arnold's intensity was severe and was usually done twice a day for workouts lasting several hours in total.

But then Arnold didn't train legs or back very hard, calves yes, but legs no. That means that he was neglecting nearly half his body. Dorian never had to train calves very hard at all - it was mainly genetics but he still trained them hard, heavy, and regular.

You've got to look at it from a whole body perspective. Dorian put 100% into every bodypart - Arnold trained hard and was focused in every area of his life whereas Dorian was all about the bodybuilding and that alone.

When it comes to training in the gym, Arnold trained longer - but I don't see how it could have been harder as no-one could sustain Dorian's intensity over that length of time that Arnold was training.

So to conclude, in terms of pure training intensity alone, I would give it to Dorian.

Easily Arnold, whoever trains for 5 hours a day easily surpassess a guy who trained his ass off for 45 minutes...

Its really common sense to see who had the tougher time

Arnold wouldn't have survived a single session with Dorian. Event though I'm not a fan of Dorian's physique (and of the trend he has set), his method was by far superior to Arnold's. People will say that HIT and all related methods are only efficient if you juice...Well, training five hours a day is even worse. Intensity is still relative and a "natural" can benefit from a 45mn or a 1-hour of "intense" workout. Go train 5 hours a day without juicing and we'll see how you end up.

yes i have to give it to dorian as well

i mean how much do we even know about arnold and his training?

what we saw in pumping iron and the rest is hearsay

and what did we see in pumping iron? the poundages used wasnt impressive from what i can recall

they did squats, but arnold wasnt the one falling to the floor after a set

and arnold does a lot of faces but that doesnt say much.

i'll have to give it to dorian!

Arnold had small calves and trained them into some of the best ever.Dorian had weak arms[in comparrison to his body],did he ever bring them up?Did his relatively weak chest ever come up?Dorian was great, but both Ronnie and Arnold trained harder, improved weak bodyparts more, and were both better bodybuilders, hence more Olympias.

ronnie already lost to dorian last round.

i doubt the story of arnold bringing up his calves. even today when he doesnt train they're big from recent pictures. which is strange. because if theyre his weak genetic muscle group they would be the first to shrink.

Arnold, he could have trained with Dorian but no way Dorian would have been able to handle his training.  He would have puked or passed out, that's what happens when these HIT bitches actually do some real mans work.
Abandon every hope...

So this isnt a poll, its just your opinion.Whats the point of the thread.Ronnies training dwarfed Dorians.Anyone who watched Ronnies tape comes away thinking the guy is a god.Anyone who watches Dorians tape comes away thinking "his training partner is more hardcore then him".

Ummmmm.....in that scene, Arnold is laughing along with the ladies on his back, who he is using as resistance. But, it is funny that you would mention that calf-raise scene.

This (and other bits of Arnold's training) was being shown in contrast with Ferrigno's "hardcore" training in a dark New York gym, with Ferrigno's training partner screaming at him, as well as big Louie's being pressed by his father.

arnold's training was like a 9-5 job, i mean its common sense
Would u rather train very intensely for 45 minutes or train with normal intesity for several hours, I think everyone would choose the first

Heres another analogy:
A man who sprints 100 metres may be more intense for a short period of time than someone who jogs for 10 miles, but obviously the guy who runs 10 miles will have the much harder time.
Fk, I'd rather dash a 100m sprint than jog 10 miles

Arnold's duration of training may of not been as intense as the short periods that Dorian did but overrall its much more gut wrenching and courageous, which makes Arnold the harder worker.
